Successful domain registration via RCP or API requires:
- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group
Registration is realtime, but resolving dns may take 30 minutes.
If the DNS zone is not configured correctly, the domain will be registered without nameservers.
After the DNS zone configuration issue is solved, please update the domain manually.
Successful domain transfer via RCP or API requires:
- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group
- email sent by the .lu Registry to the admin contact has to be confirmed within 14 days.
After this is confirmed, the transfer will complete instantly.
Please note that failed transfers are billed by the registry. We will charge you the same amount, €3,75 per domain. To avoid this, we advise to confirm the transfer with the administrative contact before initiating it.

Registry supported bulk transfer is possible as long as it is a complete portfolio take-over.

Owner change (trade)
Changing the owner of a .lu domain must be initiated via the "trade" menu
Domainoverview > Trade Domain
The administrative contact will receive an e-mail from the registry that needs to be confirmed within 14 days. After this is confirmed, the trade will complete instantly.
The registration period after a successful trade will start over again.
