Successful domain registration via RCP or API requires:

  • two or more nameservers or a nameserver group

The domain owner contact must have the following data included:

  • Private individual
    • Swedish personal number (registrants from Sweden)
    • Social security number (registrants from other countries)
  • Legal entity
    • Swedish organizational number (registrants from Sweden)
    • Company registration number (registrants from other countries)

If the registrant lists a Swedish address, but wishes to use an ID number issued by a different county, then the ID number must include the two-letter country code of the issuing country in square brackets. For example, a passport from the Netherlands with number 12345678 would be written as [NL]12345678. For Swedish residents, do not include any country code; the valid format is 123456-7890 (6 digits, dash, 4 digits). Please note to verify the company registration number on this website.

NB: due to specifics of the integration with the registry, Swedish personal number has to be put in the social security number field of the domain owner handle

Delete

After expiration or deletion of a domain name, it will enter into a 60-day "Deactivation period". During this period, the domain name does not resolve anymore but can still be reactivated.

After this 60-day period, the domain enters a 7-day "Quarantine period" during which the domain can not be reactivated anymore. After those 7 days, the domain is released again by the registry and is available for new registration.

The "renewal date offset" for .se domains is -9 days. That means that auto-renewal or auto-expiration is processed 9 days after the registry's expiration date. A domain registered on the 1st of January, will be removed from the zone only on the 10th of January. You have until 9 days after the registry's expiration date to renew the domain in Openprovider.
