Successful domain registration via RCP or API requires:
- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group
- owner, admin and technical contact
- If you intend to use the domain name as a trademark:
- You must be the holder or exclusive licensee of a verbal trademark registered in Andorra.
Persons not resident in Andorra must be represented in dealings with the Andorran Trademark Office (OMPA) by an accredited agent.
A work mark is required.
Figurative marks are not accepted for registrations. - Apply for the Office of State Emblems and Signs (Servei de Signes d'Estat) for authorization of use .ad in a domain name.
The domain name applied for must be identical to the registered trademark.
- You must be the holder or exclusive licensee of a verbal trademark registered in Andorra.
- If you intend to use the domain name as a trade name:
- You must be the holder of a trade name registered in Andorra (this is only available to Andorran citizens or persons resident in Andorra for over 20 years)
- Apply for the Office of State Emblems and Signs (Servei de Signes d'Estat) for authorization of use .ad in a domain name.
The domain name applied for must be identical to the registered trade name.

When the domain expires, the registry deletes the domain realtime.
