Registration takes up to 14 working days to complete once all the required documents and information has been provided.

Registration requirements: - A Power of Attorney duly notarized and legalized up to the Jordanian Consulate along with a copy of any registered trade mark which is identical to the domain name which is being requested are required.

Domain name transfers are not allowed under the .jo extension. In order to transfer a domain name from one registrar to another you will be required to cancel the domain name registration in order re-register the domain under the management of new registrar.

  • The domain name under (.jo) or any of its second-level can contain Latin letters (a – z), numbers (0 – 9) and dash “ – ”, provided that it cannot begin and end with a dash
  • The selected domain name shall be identical or derived from the name of the registrant or its abbreviation, translation or any of trade marks without any shortage
  • The domain name shall not begin with the formula “xn–” because this formula is for names that convert from non – Latin characters (Unicode) to Latin characters (ASCII)
  • The variety of characters and numbers selected for a domain name shall not be consistent with common numbering and naming schemes. For example,the domain shall not be named “0xFF” because this number represents 255 with the hexadecimal numbering scheme
  • The minimum domain name length shall be 3 characters and the maximum domain name length shall be 36 characters
