This article describes the procedures and requirements of .ec domain names.

A domainname can be registered through the control panel. It can take up to 24 hours for the domainname to become active.
To transfer a .ec domain name please make sure to first get the authorization code from the current registrar. Using this code you can request the transfer through our website.
The transfer will complete instantly and the domain name will be available in your account immediately.

You can also initiate the transfer without an authorization code. When a transfer is started like this the current registrar will have 14 days to object or approve the transfer. If no approval is given, the transfer is cancelled automatically.

Owner change (trade)

A change of ownership can be done by replacing the owner contact in the control panel. After saving the changes the change is processed realtime.

Other update

A change of contactdetails can be done by updating the associated handles in the control panel. After saving the changes the domainname will be updated realtime.


The deletion of the domain is realtime. After the domainname has been deleted it will remain in quarantine for 30 days. During this period it can be reactivated.

Restore / reactivate

A domain can be restored for 30 days after deletion.
