This article describes the procedures and requirements of .bg domain names.

Successful domain registration requires:

  • Registrant handle with the following additional information:
    • For companies (company field is filled in)
      • Company registration number
    • For private individual (company field is empty)
      • Passport number or individual ID
  • two or more nameservers or a nameserver group

 

After placing the request, the order is processed as follows:

  • If registrant is a company:
    • Reseller needs to send a company business certificate to Openprovider support via email
    • Openprovider support sends back a registration application form
    • Entitled person, mentioned in business certificates, signs and stamps the application form
      • Application form can be signed by another person only if document is notarized later
    • Entitled person, mentioned in business certificates, signs and stamps a copy of business certificate (not older than 6 months)
    • Registrant sends the form and certificate to .bg registry via postal mail
    • Registration application is confirmed or rejected by registry within 45 days since registration request creation in Openprovider
  • If registrant is a person:
    • Openprovider support sends a registration application form
    • Registrant fills in and signs the form. Form must be notarized
      • As alternative, registrant can sign the form in .bg registry office, instead of notarizing it
    • Registration application is confirmed or rejected by registry within 45 days since registration request creation in Openprovider

 

NB:

  • Registration documents must be delivered to the registry within 45 days since domain registration request in Openprovider
    • Failure to comply will result in registration cancelled and domain unavailable for registration for the next 4 days
  • Registration application form is valid for 30 days - if invalid data is supplied in the form or in domain owner handle, a new application can't be made until previous one expires

  • Transfer process is almost identical to the registration process - instead of registration application form a transfer application form should be completed

 

  • *Application Number is required : When you register a .bg domain, you get a document that the registrant has to sign, you can find the application number there. It can also be found on the emails sent by the registry such as renewals.

Owner change (trade)

  • Trade process is almost identical to the registration process
    This is a manual process, please sent an email to support, indicating the domain and the new registrant handle. Once the trade is requested, a contract will be generated by the registry and supplied to the reseller within a few days. This contract between losing and gaining domain owner must be signed and notarized.
