This article describes the procedures and requirements of .tw domain names.

You can register a .tw domain through our API or control panel. This registration is real time and requires the following information:

  • the domain's contact handles (owner, administrative, etc.)
  • two or more nameservers or a nameserver group
  • The company/organization and the Unified Business Number have to be inserted in the contact organization value in the following way:
    <Unified Business Number>::<Organization Name> for example 17597502::ABC Company.
  • This number is only required if the owner is a company/organization. For registrations with natural persons as owner, the extension is not mandatory.

 

A transfer can be requested using the authorization code. The domain holder will have to confirm the transfer by clicking a link in an e-mail.

Owner change (trade)

An owner change can be performed by updating the owner handle of the domain. This change is processed realtime. The whois will take 6 hours to update.

Other update

An contact update can be performed by updating the handle of the domain. This change is processed realtime. The whois will take 6 hours to update.

Delete

A domain can be set to not renew at the end of the current period.

Restore / reactivate

It is not possible to reactivate deleted domains there is no quarantine period.
