This article describes the procedures and requirements of .tk domain names.

Important:

Starting with 2024-05-05, management of .TK domains will no longer be available. This deadline is outside our control, the communication with the Registry has been completely down for some time. You can still attempt to transfer domains, but at the moment no requests are processed succesfully at the Registry. Unless anything changes, communication with the registry will be completely over after that date.

You can register a .tk domain through our API or control panel. This registration is real time and requires the following information:

  • the domain's contact handles (owner, administrative, etc.)
  • two or more nameservers or a nameserver group

Please note premium domains (short, memorable and general names) are more expensive to register and renew. This is technical specification for this zone: to check premium price we will need to push creation request first. Openprovider anyway will return regular price but later customer will be notified about exact requested domain price. Once informed, customer will have a choice to confirm or decline registration.

A transfer has to be requested with an authcode. It takes up to 5 days before it is successfully transfered. During this period the current registrar can object against the transfer.

Additional notes on a .tk transfer

Error during transfer: 545: Entity reference not found [Object does not exist] The .TK registry runs 3 different System which are not compatible to another. We are only connected to the EPP service of freenom, if the domain is managed in one of the two other systems we can't manage the domain name. This is indicated with the entity reference not found as the domain does not exist on the EPP system.

Authorization code required yes
Method of confirmation authcode
Registration period after transfer extends
Average transfer time 5 days
Advanced and simple transfers available Contact our Sales department to check if easy transfer of 100 or more .tk domains is available.

If you encounter some issue, please report it through the "HotJar" feedback collector on the bottom right, or (if it is blocked by your browser) by clicking the "Submit a request" link below.
