This article describes the procedures and requirements of .ro domain names.

Successful domain registration via RCP or XML API or REST API requires:
- The registrant must have the following details filled in:

For private individual (company field is NOT filled in)
- Passport number or individual ID number and social security number (tax / fiscal number)

For companies (company field is filled in)
- Company registration number and VAT number

For private individual (company field is NOT filled in)
- two or more nameservers or a nameserver group
Successful domain transfer via RCP or XML API or REST API requires:
- authorisation code by retrieving the authorization code from the current registrar.
- Alternatively, the current registrant can log in to the .ro registry website, visit the menu .ro Domains > On-line administration and request the transfer code. See the screenshots below (under the section Trade) for details.
- Once you have the code, please send the
authorization code, the handles and the nameservers to support@openprovider.nl. Openprovider will process the rest of the transfer for you manually. - The transfer will complete in three days.
Additional notes on a .ro transfer
The registrant will not change during the transfer process. This can only be requested after the transfer is done successfully, via requesting a Trade. See the information how to request a trade in the section "Update".

Owner change (trade)
Successful domain trade requires:

"Trade authorization key". This code can be requested from the registry website by the current registrant; visit the menu .ro Domain Registry > Domain administration > Online. These steps are visualized in the screenshots below. Note that the trade authorization key is valid for 14 days only.
- Once you have the code you can send it to the support department and we will start the trade.
- If all goes right and is accepted the trade will complete as soon as the registry processes it.

Other update
Successful domain update via RCP or XML API or REST API requires:
- A contact (except for registrant) or nameserver update can be performed by updating the handle of the domain.
- This change is processed realtime.
Delete
- In order to delete a .RO domain, you can disable the auto-renewal.
- The domain will expire on the expiration date. (recommended) If you want the domain deleted directly, a deletion document needs to be filled in.
- This document needs to be faxed to the registry and the original document needs to be sent by postal mail to: ICI - ROTLD Registry Bd. Averescu 8-10 Sector 1 Bucharest 011455 Romania
- Please contact support for the required document. So, no additional paperwork is required if you let the domain expire on the expiration date, while the deletion can be performed at any point of time during the registration period, but paperwork is required.
Restore / reactivate
- This is a manual procedure and you can request the restoration of a .ro domain by sending an email to support@openprovider.com.
