What is email archiving?
Email Archiving refers to storing the history of electronic mail communication.
How does it work?
The email archiving service is additional service that can be enabled on top of incoming or outgoing email filtering and email storage is organized in the highly redundant email security cloud maintained by SpamExperts.
Enable archiving for inbound traffic
Activation for inbound email archiving is simple. It requires enabling incoming filtering first via simple MX-record change in the DNS of the domain. All inbound email traffic will then go to SpamExperts system first and then a copy will be then made and stored in one or multiple storage locations. The email is next delivered to the unchanged mail infrastructure of the recipient.
In case if incoming filtering on the domain has already been enabled before - then enabling archiving is just a matter of single click in Openprovider Control Panel.
Enable archiving for outbound traffic
To archive outbound emails via SpamExperts, an administrator needs to redirect the outbound email traffic to SpamExperts system (enable outgoing filtering on a domain). This can be done by either configuring the mail server to use SpamExperts archiving system as a smart host (thus, the entire mail
server or only some of the domains will be archived), or by reconfiguring the settings (only selected users will be archived).
Archiving is billed for every 10GB of allocated space.
