In this video, we will learn how to issue our first certificate. Let's create an order and fill in the required data. First select a certificate type - it can be a domain validation certificate, or organization or extended validation. Depending on the type, a certificate can protect a domain, a bunch of domains or subdomains.
Let's choose a single domain RapidSSL. At the Order page, you can toggle auto-renewal and select a certificate lifetime. After the order has been created please provide the correct data for a certificate authority center. On the next page block “Order Details” we choose the type of certificate, lifetime, the number of protected domains, etc. Let's fill in Contact data. Organization (requestor) is the identity of the person who is requesting the certificate. It can be a private individual or company representative. Let’s select requester from the drop-down list that contains contacts from reseller’s RCP. Check Technical data block. We need to generate a CSR, which encodes all certificate information: domain to be protected, company location, etc. Fill in all data, confirm and you'll see your public and private keys. They will also be sent to the email address you have specified. Confirm that everything in the CSR is correct. Company data will be shown to the right. Select one of the default emails and select a validation method. This method could be email, DNS or HTTP, to let you confirm domain ownership.
