Domains Newsletter September 2025

Domains newsletter - September 2025

Hi there,

Welcome to this month’s domains newsletter! We’ve packed it with updates that matter for your business (and maybe even a little inspiration).

Our WHMCS module just got a smart upgrade: registrants can now choose whether to show their details in WHOIS/RDAP. Simple, secure, and GDPR-friendly.

On our blog, we’ve mapped out four domain trends that are shaping 2026 and beyond (spoiler: .pro and .global are catching up fast). Plus, don’t miss our interview with PIR’s Jon Nevett as .org celebrates its 40th birthday - a great read on how this classic TLD is still powering mission-driven organizations worldwide.

We’ve also included the latest registry updates, covering upcoming price adjustments and policy changes, so you can stay fully informed and manage your portfolio with confidence.

Happy reading!

We’ve released a new version of our WHMCS domain registrar module that includes the Consent to Publish Domain Contact Data option for gTLDs. This option is now available on the domain registration, transfer, and modification pages in the WHMCS Admin Area.

By default, personal data is redacted to protect registrants’ privacy in line with GDPR.

If registrants want their contact details to appear in public WHOIS/RDAP, they must now give explicit consent.

You can download this new version of the module from the GitHub repository.
