Why I am getting charged for "Plesk ELS"

Our Plesk license supplier has communicated their plans to end of life (EOL0) the following operating systems:

  • CentOS 7 & CloudLinux 7: EOL on June 30, 2024
  • Ubuntu 18.04: EOL since May 2023 (Plesk support extended to Sept. 30, 2024)
  • Debian 10: EOL on June 30, 2024

After these dates, these operating systems will be more vulnerable to potential security issues, as they will no longer receive security updates from their respective upstream vendors.

To provide additional time for migration, WebPros is introducing the Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS) program for Plesk Obsidian users. This program will provide critical security updates and technical support for a limited time beyond the EOL dates, making the transition to supported operations systems a smoother one. The ELS program will be available from the following dates:

  • CentOS 7 & CloudLinux 7: July 1, 2024 to January 1, 2026
  • Ubuntu 18.04 & Debian 10: October 1, 2024 to July 1, 2025

For more details, please refer to the Plesk Lifecycle Policy.

Plesk ELS fee

There will be an additional monthly fee of €8 per qualifying license for the ELS program starting September 1, 2024. For our customers, there will be free coverage until September 30, 2024. After this period, you will be charged monthly. If an old operating system is detected on September 30, 2024, a fee will be applied on that specific day.

We recommend planning your migration to a supported OS as soon as possible.

Plesk provides various tools to assist with migration:

  • Plesk Migrator (All OS’s)
  • Dist-Upgrade for Ubuntu/Debian
  • ELevate for CentOS 7 to AlmaLinux 8
